Express Services

Extol understands that your project may not be a large, complex assembly which requires a one-of-a-kind, fully automated, 'lights-out' piece of equipment. You may simply need a check fixture or a basic prototype welding nest...in a hurry! We get it.

That is why Express Services, our 'shop within a shop', exists. If your needs are along the lines of:

  • Robotic 'End of Arm Tooling'
  • Replacement details and components
  • Basic bench top fixtures
  • Machine retrofits
  • Short lead time projects

...we can do it, with the same focus on quality, details, and your satisfaction.

Our Express team is an autonomous group capable of the design and manufacture - and necessary project management, for a wide range of challenging applications.

This page demonstrates a general 'round-up' of various fixtures, details, and machines.

The Extol Express Team

Express Services Team

Wow, what can you add to this picture...ever seen such a sharp group of guys? Words can hardly describe...

Actually, this small team represents over 40-years of combined experience at Extol and they promote what we are all about; a group of 'straight shooting', skilled people intent on simply doing the job well.

Bench-top InfraWeld

The compact, 2-point InfraWeld system illustrated below is an ideal compromise of basic, yet clever, engineering which incorporates a simple manual slide with an interlock feature and part presence/location sensors to assure a quality assembly.

Quick Manufacture

Extol Express is ideally set-up for the quick manufacture of assembly assist fixturing and custom built details.

Compact

Pictured below is another compact, bench-top assembly fixture designed for insertion of an illuminated vanity mirror into an automotive sunvisor. A manual slide system - automatically interlocked when in location, positions the components below the pneumatic press. The visor locating nest (white component) can be inverted in a quick-change fashion to accomodate right-hand or left-hand assemblies. An inspection is performed on the vanity mirror in the tooling above the nesting (black piece) to assure part quality prior to assembly.

The tight location of the pneumatic components and electrical enclosure is classic 'Express'. Although a relatively basic operation is performed in this effective package, reasonable error detecting, part presence, and even laser sensor technology is employed to assure part quality.

End-of-Arm Tooling

Various robotic 'End-of-Arm' tooling is pictured below; single and multiple cavity tooling with vacuum and/or mechanical part retention is typical, degating and part presence sensing are also commonly implemented.
